"What is written without effort is in general read without pleasure", if I might quote Sam Johnson in mitigation of my recent deliquencies. Nowadays I am hooked up - with the internet, I hasten to add. No longer dependant on cafes where I am forced to jostle cheek and jowl with gangs of priapic arab teenagers. I can take my ease and provide my loyal readership with the reasoned fruit of learning and observation.
I cannot promise I will blog every day; nor that you will agree with me - my thoughts have taken a more radical turn of late than you are perhaps used to. The scapel-like wit and mind are still on offer, though, searching out the contours of that unduly shadowy land that exists between church and state in this great Commonwealth.
