John de Bruyn

September 14th 2008 08:23
I was amused to find a reference to Mr John de Bruyn. The man in question is, of course, Joe de Bruyn, a highly placed official of the Shop Distributive and Allied Employees' Association (known as The Shoppies or SDA). Our media seem to be sufferring from Purple Fever. So interested are they in landing a punch on the Cardinal, the real story passes them by. What is a unionist doing running the board of governors of a small private university? Who's up whom and who's paying the rent?

Whatever happened to investigative journalism?
